PureDiet Terms of Use

1. Acceptance
By accessing or using PureDiet ("the App", "we"), you agree to these Terms of Use ("Terms") and Apple’s standard end‑user license terms (Apple Media Services / App Store EULA). If there is a conflict, Apple’s terms govern purchases, billing, and refunds.
2. Eligibility & Account
- You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction). Minors should use the App with parental consent and supervision.
- You are responsible for all activities under your device and Apple ID.
3. Service Scope
The App provides meal logging, food recognition and calorie estimation, and nutrition statistics. Estimates are for reference only and may differ from actual labels, recipes, or portions.
4. Subscriptions & Billing (Auto‑Renewable)
- Plans and prices are as shown in the App and may vary by region and tax.
- Payment is charged to your Apple ID at purchase confirmation.
- Subscriptions renew automatically and charge within 24 hours before the current period ends.
- You can manage or turn off auto‑renewal in “Settings > Apple ID > Subscriptions”. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current period; no refunds or pro‑rata credits for the remaining period.
- If a free trial is offered, it converts to a paid subscription at the end of the trial unless canceled at least 24 hours beforehand. Some trials/promos may be limited to one per Apple ID.
- Price changes will be notified by Apple before renewal. If you do not agree, cancel before renewal; continued use indicates consent to the new price.

5. Refunds
Refunds for completed transactions and renewals are handled by Apple under its policies (not directly by the developer). Request at reportaproblem.apple.com.
6. Restore Purchases
When changing devices or reinstalling, use “Restore Purchases” in the App with the same Apple ID to regain your active subscription.
7. Data & Storage
- Your diet records and similar data are stored locally on your device. Uninstalling the App or clearing app data will delete these local records.
- When you use image recognition/estimation, the selected image is sent over HTTPS to our backend proxy, which calls the model service to process it. We do not persist images; they are processed only for the time necessary to complete recognition.
- To improve quality, we may collect de‑identified statistics and logs about requests, used solely for service reliability and model improvement; we do not sell your personal data to third parties.
8. Third‑Party Services
- Apple App Store billing & subscriptions, governed by Apple’s terms.
- Alibaba Cloud DashScope / Qwen (Tongyi Qianwen): we invoke model capabilities via our backend proxy to perform image recognition and estimation, subject to their service terms and compliance requirements.
9. Health & Safety Disclaimer
- The App does not provide medical advice and is not a substitute for professional diagnosis or treatment.
- Consult a physician or dietitian before starting any diet, especially if you have medical conditions, are pregnant/nursing, or take medications.
- Stop using and seek medical help if you feel unwell or in an emergency.
10. Acceptable Use
No abuse, attacks, reverse engineering, scraping, unauthorized commercial use, or interference with/ circumvention of security measures.
11. Intellectual Property
The App and related content are owned by us or our licensors. No copying, modification, distribution, or derivative works without permission.
12. Termination
You may stop using or cancel your subscription at any time (effective at the end of the period). We may suspend or terminate for material breaches.
13. Disclaimers & Limitation of Liability
To the extent permitted by law, the App is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, punitive, or consequential damages; for direct damages, our aggregate liability is limited to the fees you paid for the service in the past 12 months (or an equivalent of USD 15 if you are a free user; adjust where local mandatory law requires otherwise).
14. Privacy
We process personal data in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
15. Governing Law & Disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of Singapore, without regard to conflict‑of‑law rules. You agree to the non‑exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Singapore. Notwithstanding the foregoing, the mandatory consumer protection laws of your country/region of residence remain applicable; if you reside in the EU/EEA or the UK, you may also bring claims before the courts of your place of residence.
16. Changes
We may update these Terms. Material changes will be notified in the App or on our website. Continued use means acceptance.
